Continuations of 1st Round of NDPT’s 2011 Kalon Tripa Campaign at Central India Successfully finished
The 1st Round of National Democratic Party of Tibet’s 2011 Kalon Tripa campaign tours talk to 3 Tibetan settlements; Orissa, Bhandara and Varanasi in the central India have successfully finished on 14th August, 2010 by President Mr. Chime la and assistant Mr. Kalsang la. Starting from Orissa on August 6, 2010 and then to Bhandara and Varanasi in the Central India for the Public talk on an election campaign. Many people attended the talk and showed great interest in our upcoming election of Katri and Chithue.
President started public talk by introducing the aims and objectives of the National Democratic Party of Tibet and the importance of this party to announce the Katri and Chitue nominees of its own. Since NDPT is being the only political party and this party believe that it is their outer most duty to introduce the nominees of coming election to the public and make people understand and know their own leaders.
The talk was mainly based on the significance of voting and electing better candidates for our future leaders (Kalon Tripa and Chithue) and the duties of Tibetan people on this program. And he also added present political situation in and outside of the Tibet and the significance role of choosing a better leaders for our society are totally depended on the hands of Tibetans outside the Tibet.
The talk also stressed on the importance of public taking the initiative part in the election to make our democracy to reach highest level. This is only possible by more people take part in voting, and by having a bicameral party in our society.
President urged public to take part in voting and also bade them not to vote blindly; as need to study thoroughly about the background histories of those candidates whom they are going to vote for and most importantly not to follow others view but to make their own decisions regarding the final voting. In a democratic society right to vote is most important “right” that one can have, so he asked public to not misuse it or waste it out.
Present hardship in our parliament is due to lack of an opposition party, as we all know about the difficulties, misunderstanding and confusion in our parliament. Tibetans in and outside the Tibet look upon them (chithues) with great hope and expectations, but now there are more confuse within public regarding to Chithue. So the main problem is due to lack of having another party or an opposition party in our Parliament, without opposition party it is hard to say that we are living in a democratic society. There for we are striving hard to form an opposition party in our society for the greater democracy.
Finally, we would like to thank Regional Tibetan Youth Congress, Tibetan Women’s Association and related people for their kind support and helping out to finish these talks successfully in these settlements. Lastly, we would like to thank all those who have attended the meeting and being a wonderful listeners and participators in the talk.
